DAY 1
Let Wolf's escort you to the nation's capital for an excursion of your choosing. You have the choice to visit the Washington DC National Zoo which houses 2100 individual animals of nearly 400 different species. You won't want to miss the zoo's two newest guests - the Giant Pandas - Bao Li & Qing Bao you can visit them at their renovated habitat on Asia Trail. But don't miss all the other furry and feathery friends in the zoo's 163 acres. The Zoo offers a variety of dining and shopping options located throughout the park. Visitors are welcome to bring their own food and snacks into the zoo.
OR you can choose to visit The Smithsonian museums that houses a wealth of historical facts, artifacts and interesting stories about famous people. The National Air & Space museum has finalized 12 galleries that will open in Spring '25, including the "Boeing Milestones of Flight Hall" and the "Barron Hilton Pioneers of Flight" galleries. The museum has also opened the Lockheed Martin IMAX Theatre. But make sure you leave time to visit - the Museum of Natural History, Museum of American History, the Holocaust Museum, among others - to learn at your leisure. **When planning your day, be sure to visit the website for the museum(s) you plan to visit to see whether a ticket is required for admission. Consider getting your tickets prior to your visit to avoid long entry lines or no entry due to capacity limitations. **
Whether you choose to spend the day at the Washington, DC National Zoo or touring the Smithsonian museums, the day is yours to do as you please. Upon arrival in Washington, DC at approximately 10:30 a.m., pending traffic, your first stop will be for those who choose to spend their day at the National Zoo. Your second stop will be for those who would like to spend the day at the Smithsonian museums on the National Mall. You are asked to have lunch and dinner on your own while in DC. Departure from the Smithsonian/National Mall area will be 5:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. from the National Zoo.
