Day 1

Sand, sun and summertime fun await you in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. During today's travel, you will make meal and rest stops at your expense as you make you way to the Beach Cove Resort (843-286-5690) for the next 4 nights. Resort amenities include an indoor pool and whirlpool, one outdoor pool heated year-round, a fitness center, racquetball court, on-site dining options and a cocktail lounge, a business center, coin operated laundry, and complimentary Wi-Fi internet access. Guest room features include a living room with sleeper couch, table and chairs, private balcony, fully equipped kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, basic utensil and dishes, coffee maker, cable television, DVD player, hair dryer, and iron/ironing board. Relax and unwind this evening after a day of travel.

Day 2

Breakfast is included at the resort at your leisure. A group trip to a local grocery store will be scheduled this morning. While some basics are provided in your condo, this is the ideal time to purchase any additional supplies you may need for the week. Today, you have the choice to remain at the resort to soak up the sun and enjoy the pool or beach OR depart late morning to explore the Myrtle Beach area including stops at Peaches Corner and Market Commons. Peaches Corner is a Myrtle Beach landmark since its opening in 1937. This historic diner sits amid the Myrtle Beach boardwalk area filled with local shops, amusements, and restaurants. You also have the option to explore Market Commons. Previously an air force base during WWII, you may pay tribute to the military while exploring the modern mix of retail shops, restaurants and entertainment in a charming atmosphere. Though few original 1956 Air Force structures remain, streets honor historical figures, and historical markers share stories of heroes, military buildings and events. You return to the resort mid-afternoon for some free time to relax. Tonight, you gather together with fellow travelers for travel to dinner included at Benjamin's Calabash Seafood Buffet, home of fresh local seafood daily. The award-winning buffet is famous for introducing the Myrtle Beach area to cooking seafood Calabash-Style, which is lightly battered and deep fried. Your day concludes with a show at the Alabama Theatre, Myrtle Beach's most popular variety show venue. Enjoy a thrilling musical journey from chart-topping Country hits and Classic Rock to Broadway and Pop. This show pays tribute to the coastal vibe, celebrating the beauty of being at the beach. Following the show, you will return to the resort for the night.

Day 3

Enjoy breakfast at your leisure with a choice to remain at the resort for an option beach day OR join a local guide and travel to historic Charleston for time to explore the historic district. Take a walking tour, explore the area by carriage, visit Fort Sumter or browse the historic market…the choice is your and at your expense. You will be given a time to meet the bus for return to the resort following your self-exploration of Charleston and lunch on your own and at your expense. Charleston was founded in 1670 by English colonists and was a major port and commercial center for the colony, becoming wealthy through the export of rice and indigo. It played a pivotal role in both the American Revolution and the Civil War, serving as the site of the first shots fired at Fort Sumter in 1861. After the Civil War, the city underwent significant economic changes and is now a major tourist destination. Mid-afternoon, you depart Charleston for return to the resort. For those who would like to take an optional excursion to Barefoot Landing, located on Southern Intracoastal Waterway featuring one of the most unique & popular shopping, dining & entertainment destinations you will ever experience. During the summer months, Barefoot Landing hosts SummerFest featuring the energy and ambiance of music, strolling entertainment and evening fireworks. Enjoy time for self-exploration and dinner on your own and at your expense. You may also choose to remain at the resort to enjoy the amenities.

Day 4

Breakfast is once again included at the resort at your leisure and the option remain at the resort for beach time OR take an optional trip to "Rivertown", the city of Conway, SC. A city rich in history and a charming downtown area, Conway downtown has been revitalized with shops and bistros, and the Riverwalk that follows a stretch of the Waccamaw River. After time for self-exploration and lunch on your own and at your expense, you return to the resort early afternoon. Mid-afternoon, you gather with fellow passengers for travel to Broadway at the Beach for a little retail therapy offering one-of-a-kind shops and boutiques, as well as a collection of nationally recognized name brands. Dinner this evening is included at a local restaurant and the evening is capped off with a show at the Carolina Opry. This award-winning show blends high-energy music, comedy and dance in a beautiful state-of-the-art theatre with fabulous sound and special effects. It is the perfect end to this summertime getaway. You return to the resort after the show.

Day 5

Wake to breakfast included at the resort before you check out and bid farewell to Myrtle Beach with fond memories of your summertime escape! Meal and rest stops will be made at your expense enroute home.
