DAY 1
Today you depart for a place of sun and relaxation mixed with southern charm in South Carolina. Following meals and rest stops at your expense along the way, you arrive in Myrtle Beach, SC for check -in at the Beach Cove Resort (843-286-5690) for the next 4 nights. Resort amenities include an indoor pool and whirlpool, one outdoor pool heated year-round, a fitness center, racquetball court, on-site dining options and a cocktail lounge, a business center, coin operated laundry, and complimentary Wi-Fi internet access. Guest room features include a living room with sleeper couch, table and chairs, private balcony, fully equipped kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, basic utensil and dishes, coffee maker, cable television, DVD player, hair dryer, and iron/ironing board. Relax and unwind this evening after a day of travel.
DAY 2
After breakfast included at the hotel, you can spend free time on the beach or poolside, you may choose to explore Barefoot Landing or take advantage of an optional tour add-on and board the Big M Casino Ship. Barefoot Landing is located on Southern Intracoastal Waterway featuring one of the most unique & popular shopping, dining & entertainment destinations you will ever experience. If you are feeling lucky, you could spend your time aboard the Big M Casino Ship, South Caolina's most luxurious Casino Ships offering Slots, Roulette and Card Table Games. (Note: This is an optional tour and an additional fee of approximately $20.00 per person applies. If you choose to take advantage of this option, we suggest you make a reservation in advance at https://www.bigmcasino.com/book-now.) You must be 21 years or older and present valid photo ID. Late afternoon, once everyone as retuned from their chosen adventure, you join fellow passengers for dinner included at a local restaurant. Your day concludes with a tribute to some of music's most famous performers in "Legends in Concert". These tribute artists pay homage to their iconic music counterparts dressed in magnificent costumes and perform amid elaborate sets with full array of incredible special effects and state-of-the-art lighting. The live orchestra adds to the stunning appeal of this amazing performance. Following the show, you will return to the resort for the night.
B, DDAY 3
Wake to breakfast included at the resort before you depart with your local guide to visit Brookgreen Gardens. Your admission includes a private tour of the gardens during which you hear the history of this beautiful plantation. Registered as a National Historic Landmark, Brookgreen Gardens is a wonder of native flora, fauna, and American sculpture. Considered by many to be the jewel of the Grand Strand with nine-thousand lush acres of South Carolina history and Lowcountry, landscapes you will find the most significant collection of outdoor figurative sculpture by American artists in the world, learn about rice plantations of the 1800s and see animals in scenic enclosures that respect the animals and the surrounding environment at the Lowcountry Zoo and Native Animal Habitat. In addition, board the 48-foot pontoon boat for a creek excursion and listen to narration as you pass the historic rice fields and learn about the role of enslaved Africans in the cultivation of the rice crop and the shaping of the Lowcountry. Keep your eyes open for local wildlife that inhabit these waters. Lunch is on your own and at your expense while at Brookgreen Gardens. Your day continues with a stop of Pawleys Island Hammock Shoppes, created by riverboat captain, Josuha John Ward in 1938. Since the original Hammock was made, and a craze and symbol of leisurely island life was born, Pawleys Island Hammocks are now sought after by customers worldwide. See a demonstration of hammock weaving and sweetgrass basket-making take place in the Hammock Weavers Pavilion. Brick paths connect twenty-five shops of a unique mix of retail fare. Next, you depart for Broadway on the Beach for some free time to stroll and browse the one-of-a-kind shops and boutiques, as well as a collection of nationally recognized name brands. Dinner is included at a local favorite for your evening ends with a magical experience at Wonders Theatre. Experience a world-class show of magic, dance, and comedy and grand illusions by Charles Bach. Following the show, you return to the resort for the rest of the night.
B, DDAY 4
Begin your day with breakfast included at the resort. Afterwards, board the motorcoach and travel to the quaint river town of Conway. Kingston Township was named in honor of Great Britain's King George II and officially opened for settlement on February 26, 1734. Join your local guide for a narrated tour of Conway featuring a successful Main Street USA program that provides a look at a thriving southern river town. After the tour, you will have a short presentation at Horry County Museum and enjoy free time to explore downtown and have lunch on your own and at your expense. Early afternoon, you can choose to return to the resort to relax and enjoy the amenities or visit Alligator Adventure at Barefoot Landing. If you choose Alligator Adventure, you will have to buy your admission ticket upon arrival at an additional cost of approximately $40.00 per person to see one of the world's largest alligator exhibits. Witness more than 800 alligators feast, frolic and fetch as they walk on boardwalks. You may even spot the two rare albino alligators on your visit. In addition to these cold-blooded amniotes, visitors can also see tortoises, exotic birds and Komodo dragons, as well as plenty of amphibians in the large herpetology house. The motorcoach will return to the resort to pick up everyone from their afternoon adventures and have dinner at Benjamin's Calabash Seafood Buffet, home of fresh local seafood daily. The award-winning buffet is famous for introducing the Myrtle Beach area to cooking seafood Calabash-Style, which is lightly battered and deep fried. The night concludes with a show at Alabama Theatre, Myrtle Beach's Most Popular Variety Show venue. After the show, you will return to the hotel.
B, DDAY 5
Following breakfast included on your last morning in Myrtle Beach, you pack up and bid farewell to the beautiful coast filled with fascinating history and bountiful southern charm. During your return home, you will make meal and rest stops at your expense along the way.
