Day 1
Package Includes: Surf 'n Turf lunch, Show Admission, and Transportation
Heading out for a day of music and good food - Wolf's will make a brief rest stop on the way to Bucks County for the day. We'll arrive at the Playhouse for a Surf 'n Turf meal along the water at Playhouse Deck Restaurant and Bar. Garage windows line the dining room and bar giving every seat inside the restaurant a river view. Every dollar spent at the restaurant and bar supports the non-profit mission of the theater. After our amazing lunch with a view - stroll along the river and get a close up of the Delaware River - and a view into New Jersey whose state line falls right in the middle of the river beside the playhouse.
Next, get your laughs in as we enjoy the charming musical comedy - 'She Loves Me,' from the writing team of "Fiddler on the Roof" and the inspiration of the film, "You've got Mail," a musical valentine to one of the most delightful stories ever written by award winning cast members. In this case of mistaken identity, there is no love lost between Amalia and George, two perfume clerks who can't seem to find common ground. Then Georg realizes that they've been one another's anonymous pen pals, kicking off a new quest to win her heart.
Bucks County playhouse original structure was built in 1790 on the site of a former grist mill on the banks of the Delaware River. Facing demolition in the 1930s, the site was saved by a small band of artists, including Broadway Playwright and Bucks County resident Moss Hart. The playhouse opened in 1939 and quickly became "America's Most Famous Summer Theater," with a veritable who's who of American theater royalty! You never know - maybe one of the talented stars you see today will someday grace the silver screen!!
After the show we'll depart for home with a brief dinner stop along the way at your own expense.
