DAY 1
Travel with Wolf's to Mount Vernon, Virginia, to visit the most popular historic home in America and a lasting reminder of the life and legacy of the "Father of Our Country," George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate. George and Martha Washington acquired the mansion in 1754 and it was their home for almost 45 years.
Upon arrival, you will have free time to explore the expansive grounds. Stroll through the beautifully maintained gardens, visit the Pioneer Farm, and pay your respects at Washington's Tomb and the Slave Memorial & Cemetery. You can also see the wharf that was integral to his fishery business.
Later in the morning, your admission includes a guided mansion tour. The first and second floors have been newly restored, offering a fresh look at this historic home. You'll see the mansion furnished and decorated to look as it did in 1799, the year he died, including the newly re-opened and restored rooms and Washington's bedchamber. Washington personally oversaw every detail of the home's expansion to reflect his status as a Virginia gentleman, even while away at war.
After the tour, lunch is on your own. Take advantage of the new, enhanced food court pavilion to enjoy a delicious meal with a variety of options.
For a comprehensive look at Washington's life, the Ford Orientation Center and the Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center offer a truly memorable experience. Be sure to visit the new George Washington Exhibit at the education center and enjoy a showing at the Revolutionary War 4D Theater, which is back for 2026!
At the conclusion of your visit, you will depart for home with a dinner stop at your expense on the way.
