DAY 1
Discover America's founding history on a WALKING tour of Historic Philadelphia. Your local historic guide will provide narration about the birthplace of America and lead you past the exterior of Independence Hall, Old City Hall, First Bank of the United States, and Franklin Court (as time permits), before stepping inside Congress Hall, Carpenters' Hall, and the National Constitution Center to experience where the country's founding moments unfolded.
Following a short fast-food stop at your expense enroute to Philadelphia, your local historic guide will meet you at the National Constitution to begin your WALKING tour. With your guide leading the way and providing narration as you embark on your tour viewing of the exteriors of iconic sites including Independence Hall, the historic building where both the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted, Old City Hall which served as the seat of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1791 to 1800 before functioning as Philadelphia's city hall throughout the 19th century, and First Bank of the United States a landmark 1797 Neoclassical building established under Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton to stabilize and manage the young nation's credit and economy. As time permits and the pace of the group, you may also view fragments of Franklin Court, where Benjamin Franklin's home once stood. Along with exterior stops, your walking tour will include special interior visits inside Congress Hall, where early leaders met when Philadelphia was the nation's capital, and Carpenters' Hall, the historic gathering place of the First Continental Congress. Next, lunch is included at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will return to the National Constitution Center for an immersive interior exploration. Here, you will spend the rest of the afternoon discovering interactive exhibits, viewing rare constitutional artifacts, and attending live theatrical performances honoring the nation's history.
Once your visit to the museum concludes, you bid farewell to your guide and board the motorcoach to return home with a fast-food stop at your expense enroute.
