Day 1
Travel with Wolf's to Philadelphia for a trip that is both magical and illuminating! A short rest stop will be made en route to stretch your legs before arriving in Philadelphia around 3:00 PM. Upon arrival, your bus will drop you off at Reading Terminal Market, one of America's largest and oldest public markets, housed since 1893 in a National Historic Landmark building. Enjoy free time to explore the market's incredible selection of produce, meats, fine seafood, cheeses, baked goods, confections, and a wide variety of restaurants under one roof. You can also take a short walk to explore neighboring Chinatown. Pass through the iconic 40-foot Chinatown Friendship Gate, this vibrant district is packed with rich culture, traditional Asian bakeries, popular bubble tea shops, unique market stores, and dozens of restaurants offering everything from dim sum and hand-pulled noodles to authentic regional specialties.
At 5:30 PM, the bus will pick up the group at Reading Terminal Market to head to Franklin Square for a truly awe-inspiring experience at the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival. This celebration of light and culture features artisans from China and the Philadelphia region. In addition to more than 30 larger-than-life illuminated lanterns, festival admission includes live performances, which may feature Face-Changing, Diabolo, Foot Juggling, Folk Dances, and Cube Arts. Visit the Pagoda Gift Shop to purchase colorful lantern-inspired gifts and festival souvenirs. Explore the festival at your own pace and enjoy dinner on your own before departing for home at approximately 8:30 PM. Your tour escort will provide you with information about the festival en route to Philadelphia.
