Day 1
Celebrate the arrival of spring with the vibrant pale pink and white cherry blossoms that create a stunning backdrop to the Tidal Basin. A gift from Japan to the United States in 1912 these 3,000 trees have withstood the test of time. You will begin your day with a narrated driving tour featuring some stops at various monuments and photo opportunities along the way. Your Licensed Washington, D.C. Guide will both educate and entertain you with fascinating history and insider stories about our Nation's Capital. Take time to find a name on the wall at the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial, walk the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, and view the WWII Memorial and Martin Luther King Memorial. As time permits, you will also drive by the Jefferson Memorial, the United States Capitol and the White House among other iconic structures. Following your tour, you will be dropped at the National Mall for approximately 3 hours of free time to have lunch on your own and tour the Smithsonian Museums at your leisure. You will depart for home at 4:00 p.m. with a fast-food meal stop enroute home.
