Day 1

Package Includes: Free Time at the Central PA Festival of the Arts, and Transportation

Wolf's would like to help you unlock the world of art, one brushstroke (or bus trip) at a time! Join us as we head to State College for the day to the Central PA Festival of the Arts. Downtown State College opens the town for sidewalk sales and artist exhibitions. It's the perfect place for shopping while you support independent artists-entrepreneurs from across the country. You'll be dropped off at 11 a.m. for the festival where you can enjoy the festival activities, listen to music, enjoy festival foods, support downtown stores and restaurants.

The festival was born in the summer or 1967, the year of President Johnson, the Vietnam war raged, and anti-war protests took place across the country. The first festival lasted nine days, a bright spot amongst much turmoil. Musical performances took place downtown and on campus, and the first Sidewalk Sale and Exhibition consisted of people hanging work on snow fences along "The Wall" on the southern border of the Old Main Lawn. The show has changed some since then, but whether you are looking for a work of art, piece of jewelry, housewares or all of the above - todays artists will have something for you. You'll find some of the country's most talented artists in a wide variety of media from ceramics to wood - visual, audible, or sensory. The sidewalk exhibits are open from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Lunch is on your own today - so be sure to enjoy all that State College has to offer. We'll depart for home at 4 p.m. with a fast food stop on the way home.
