DAY 1
Wolf's takes fall leaf peeping to a new level with fabulous scenery and exciting adventures in New York's Adirondacks region. Board your Wolf's motorcoach for travel to the beautiful Adirondack Mountains with rest and meal stops enroute as needed. Upon arrival in Glens Falls, you check-in at the Historic Queensbury Hotel (518-792-1121) for a lovely four-night stay. Newly renovated guest rooms offer a coffee/tea maker with supplies, hairdryer, iron/ironing board and complimentary internet access. The Queensbury Hotel is a beautifully decorated Victorian style hotel featuring an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi, fitness center, on-site restaurant and cocktail lounge. After a brief time to freshen up, you may wish to watch the balloon ascension (weather permitting) for the 52nd Annual Adirondack Balloon Festival at a nearby park. Dinner this evening is included at the hotel with the remainder of the night to relax and unwind.
DDAY 2
Enjoy breakfast included at the hotel before you depart for your chosen adventure today. You have the choice today of two excursions, railbiking along the scenic Revolution Rail with a box lunch included or visit the Hyde Collection Museum and Historic House, along with wine tasting and Charcuterie Board included for lunch at Adirondack Winery. If you choose the Revolution railbiking, it is accessible for nearly all ages and ability levels allowing riders to pedal along the railroad tracks under their own power to witness scenery that has never seen passenger traffic and is best enjoyed at a leisurely pace. This 7-mile round trip tour takes riders across a spectacular 500 foot-long and 90' high bridge that crosses over the Hudson and Sacandaga Rivers and continues through the forest canopy where you may spot wildlife while leisurely pedaling along. It is approximately a 2 to 2 ½ hour roundtrip adventure. Riders of any age are welcome to participate; however, it is limited by a 300 lb. per rider per seat weight restriction. Cameras are encouraged as this unique and scenic experience will prove to be one that you will want to tell family and friends about, as well as share amazing photos. A boxed lunch is also included. If you choose to visit the Hyde Collection Museum and Historic House with wine tasting and Charcuterie Board included for lunch at Adirondack Winery, your experience features a guided tour of the home of Louis and Charlotte Hyde to learn about their important collection of European and American art displayed amid Italian Renaissance and 18th century French antique furnishings. Following the tour, you visit the Adirondack Winery Queensbury. You will wet your whistle and inspire your taste buds as you sample a select few wines from their award-winning handcrafted wines, enjoy a delightful selection of items on a Charcuterie Board for lunch and learn about their wine-making process. Both groups will return to the hotel to enjoy some down time to relax and refresh or stroll downtown to visit the shops. Dinner is included this evening with time to turn in early in preparation to awaken early the next morning to view the balloon ascension (weather permitting).
B, L, DDAY 3
For those who would like to rise early, join fellow passengers to explore early morning festivities (weather permitting and pending schedule) at the Balloon Festival and balloon ascension. Grab a cup of coffee and make your way to the festival grounds to witness the wonder of hot air balloons of all shapes, colors and sizes ascend up, up and away into the sky. You then return to the hotel to have breakfast included along with those who remained at the hotel. Afterwards, you depart as a group for a lovely, scenic cruise aboard the Lac du Saint Sacrement. Enjoy lunch included with a view of the glorious natural beauty that surrounds Lake George to see why it has been named the "Queen of American Lakes". Witness the majestic mountain beauty that borders the crystal-clear waters of Lake George. Don't forget your camera to capture pictures to make your friends and family jealous they weren't with you. Upon return to the dock, you will have free time to explore Lake George Village before returning to the hotel. Dinner is on your own tonight either at the hotel or at the balloon festival (weather and schedule permitting).
B, LDAY 4
Begin your day with breakfast included at the hotel before you depart to ride the rails on the Saratoga, Corinth & Hudson Railway. This 90-minute vintage train ride departs from the Corinth station for a scenic excursion amid the Southern Adirondacks looking for native wildlife as well as views of marshes and streams along the Hudson River. The Adirondack Company originally built this historic line in 1864 by Dr. Thomas Durant from Saratoga Springs to North Creek. Sit back and enjoy this relaxing and scenic excursion. Afterwards, lunch is included at a local favorite before returning to the hotel to relax or spend some time browsing downtown to enjoy the fresh autumn air. Dinner is on your own tonight.
B, LDAY 5
Once again, breakfast is included at the hotel before you pack up and depart for home with one last stop before you get too far down the road. Take a thrilling, scenic chair ride to the top of West Mountain. Take in the stunning views of the Adirondack and Vermont Mountains, as well as the Hudson River Valley region (on a clear day). The scenic chair lift is the perfect way to catch one last bird's eye glimpse of autumn's splendor and enjoy the sounds of Mother Nature as your gracefully soar to the peak.
