Day 1

"What's New in Washington, DC," will begin with a short stop en route to the capital, providing a welcome break and an opportunity for a morning refreshment before the day's main events. Upon arrival in Washington, DC, the group's first destination will be a visit to the brand-new National Geographic Museum of Exploration, which is slated to open in the summer of 2026. Here, guests will be invited to step through the iconic yellow border and immerse themselves in the latest, groundbreaking exhibitions, designed to spark curiosity and inspire the inner explorer with cutting-edge technology and compelling storytelling from around the world. The group will then have ample free time to explore at their leisure and enjoy lunch on their own, with the flexibility to choose from the new museum's dining facilities or other popular options in the surrounding downtown area. The afternoon will feature another significant new attraction with a visit to the Lincoln Memorial Undercroft. This recently opened space takes visitors beneath the memorial to view the vast, cavernous foundation of concrete columns and arches, complete with an immersive museum experience that showcases the history of the memorial's construction and its role as America's Civic Stage. Finally, with a day full of discovery complete, the bus will depart for home, making a necessary and convenient fast food stop along the way before arriving back at the original starting point.
