Day 1

Join Wolf's as we head to western PA for an early view of the fall sights. Following a short stop enroute, you will arrive for a guided visit of the Flight 93 Memorial Chapel that was dedicated on the 1st anniversary of 9/11 to honor God and the memory of the 40 heroes of Flight 93. In the chapel we'll be able to see many mementos donated by family members, and others, who wish to honor these heroes. We'll also see the Crew Monument in the garden area behind the chapel, donated by United Airlines and dedicated on 9/11/06. From here we'll head to lunch at Coal Miners Diner for a plated lunch.
Spirits will soar next, as we visit the Quecreek Mine Rescue site, where on July 28, 2002 nine miners were miraculously rescued from 240 ft. beneath the earth in a farmer's field just outside of Somerset. We'll hear about the events from the time the accident incurred until the last miner was brought to safety. See some of the items that were vital in that rescue and the beautiful garden that now stands at the rescue site and the Educational Visitors Center. From here we'll head to the Flight 93 National Memorial, including the Memorial Plaza with the Wall of Names of the Heroes of Flight 93 and the indoor Visitors Center. The exhibits will bring back poignant memories as well as providing new insight into the events and the heroes of that day.
After your visit, you will depart Somerset for home, with a meal stop, at your own expense, on the way.
