DAY 6

Breakfast is included at the hotel prior to check-out and departure for an included cruise to Dark Island to tour Singer Castle. Visitors will be treated to four floors filled with furnishings and artifacts original to the castle and the puzzling secret passages of its magnificent over 100-year old structure. Bourne wanted to surprise his wife Emma and their children with an island hunting retreat. He purchased Dark Island in 1902 and had designed and built the 4-story, 28-room castle, complete with 4-story tower, and elaborate boat house, a 2-story ice house essential for fine entertaining and more, originally known as "The Towers". Singer Castle is the only remaining/existing castle on the St. Lawrence Seaway to be completed, fully furnished and resided in during the heyday of the great builders and industrialists in New York.
