Horsing Around - Assateague Island & Ocean City

DAY 1

Extend your Memorial Day celebration by traveling with Wolf's to Ocean City, MD for some time to stroll the boardwalk, explore Assateague Island in search of the "wild ponies" and enjoy some retail therapy in downtown Berlin. Following meal and rest stops enroute, you will arrive at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and Ocean City's iconic boardwalk. During your stay you may wish to use the hotel's amenities, which include a hot tub and indoor pool. In-room features include a microwave, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, and hair dryer. You'll have time to explore the boardwalk or take a walk along the beach…maybe even dip your toes in the ocean! Next, you have an included seafood buffet dinner at the Bonfire Restaurant. After dinner, you return to your hotel to enjoy the rest of your evening on your own.

DAY 2

After enjoying breakfast include this morning, you check out of the hotel and meet your local guide for a cruise around Assateague Island for an "edu-taining" experience to learn about the wild ponies, marine life and capture spectacular views. Next, you'll visit the town of Berlin, MD where you'll free time for lunch on your own and some shopping on Main Street with its unique boutiques and quaint antique shops. Later in the afternoon you'll experience the beauty of Assateague Island. You'll see a short film in the Visitors Center and have time to visit the gift shop. Don't forget to bring your National Parks Passport and get your stamp. This barrier island is the "Home of the Wild Ponies" and during the tour you will explore the area by motorcoach and look for the perfect photo! Afterwards, you depart for home with a dinner stop at your expense on the way.
