Day 1
Come along with Wolf's as we celebrate the Army's 250th Anniversary! We'll embark on a historical day of military service appreciation like no other. We'll arrive at Gadsby's Tavern Restaurant, where George Washington (leader of the Continental Army), often had meals and meetings with friends and colleagues in Alexandria Virginia. Your tastebuds will salute you with a variety of entrees that will start with salad and bread and finish up with mouthwatering desserts (coffee, tea & soft drinks will be included). After the troops have been nourished, we'll depart for Quantico National Cemetery to learn more about the valiant efforts of the Missing In America Project! The Missing in American Projects purpose is to locate, identify and inter the unclaimed cremated remains of American veterans through the joint efforts of private, state & federal organizations, providing honor and respect to those who have served this country by securing a final resting place for these forgotten heroes. Our first stop will be the Administration Building where a MIAP volunteer member of the cemetery will board the coach for our personal narrated tour of the cemetery and receive an in-depth explanation of the MIAP non-profit organization and their mission. We'll have an opportunity to honor those veterans by placing a flag next to their graves to commemorate their service. After this unique experience we'll bid farewell to our step on guide and head to the National Museum of the United States Army. Opening in May of 2025 the museum will be hosting the 'Revolutionary War 250: The Early Years' exhibit. The museum offers a short film, "Of Noble Deeds," that explores what it means to truly be an American Soldier on a 300-degree screen with external sensory elements. You'll have time to explore the museum where you'll hear and see the comprehensive story of American's oldest military service. The artifacts, exhibits and programmatic elements will help you discover the new stories and explore the ways our nation has benefited from the innovation and advancement of its Army. After a day of honoring our American soldiers and their service we'll board the coach home. We'll have a fast food stop on the way back home with our newfound understanding and appreciation for those that are, and have, served our country.
