Day 1
A fast-food rest stop will be made enroute to New York City. Upon arrival at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, all visitors are subject to a security screening. In addition, photographic equipment and bags are subject to security screening and size limitations. Visitors are on their own to tour the Memorial Museum, as well as the Memorial. The artifacts on display in the museum document the events surrounding the 9/11 attack, while presenting personal stories of loss, acts of compassion, and remarkable recovery that are vital in telling the story of the attacks and the aftermath. The museum's 110,000 square feet of exhibition space rests in the archaeological heart of the World Trade Center and houses a collection of monumental and authentic artifacts, multimedia displays, archives and narratives that take you back to those tragic attacks by terrorists on American soil and gives you the opportunity to become more familiar with the men, women, and children who died. Located within walking distance to the 9/11 Memorial & Museum is St. Paul's Chapel. For more than eight months following the devastating attacks, St. Paul's doors remained open as a relief site for emergency workers in order to provide food, respite and sanctuary. On September 11, the church yard was filled with debris, but not a pane of glass was broken nor a headstone damaged. As time permits, you may wish to visit the chapel on your own before departing New York City. During your return trip home, you will make a dinner stop at your expense.
12:00 pm Entry time into the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
Free time to enjoy the museum at your leisure with lunch on your own.
4:00 pm Depart 9/11 Memorial & Museum for home.
