DAY 1

Upon arrival in Washington, DC, your first stop will be at the Museum of the Bible where admission is included for a self-guided visit. From the moment that you enter the museum, you will be awe-struck by what is among one the most technologically advanced museums in the world. You are welcomed to the Museum by a stunning grand hall with monumental Jerusalem stone columns and LED displays dominating the 40-foot-high, 140-foot-long ceiling. Showcasing rare artifacts spanning 4,000 years of history, the museum offers visitors an immersive and personalized experience with the Bible and its ongoing impact on the world around us. The Museum of the Bible houses multiple floors featuring enlightening and engaging permanent and short-term exhibits that provide perspective on the Bible's impact over time on cultures, civilizations and daily life, reveals stories and the history of the Bible, and more. While at the museum, lunch is on your own and at your expense. Next, you board the motorcoach and depart for the Cathedral Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, commonly known as the Washington National Cathedral. Its beginnings date back to 1893, but the foundation stone was not laid until 1907 in the presence of President Theodore Roosevelt. Some 83 years later the Cathedral was completed in 1990 in the presence of President George H.W. Bush. Built of Indiana limestone and shaped like a cross, it is the sixth largest in the world. The Cathedral welcomes worshipers of all faiths and visitors who come to find peace and inspiration and experience the Cathedral's extraordinary art and architecture. From its 112 gargoyles to the 215 stained glass windows, the Cathedral features an interesting array of whimsy and wonder. After your visit, you will depart for home with a dinner stop at your expense along the way.
