Day 1

With meal & rest stops at your expense enroute, your first day's travel takes you to Perrysburg, Ohio for an overnight stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Toledo Perrysburg (419-873-0700). The hotel offers an indoor pool and fitness center, business center with complimentary Wi-Fi. Guest rooms feature a mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer, iron/ironing board and complimentary high-speed internet access. Dinner this evening is included at a local restaurant. The remainder of the evening will be yours to relax and unwind.

Day 2

Following breakfast included at the hotel, you depart for St. Ignace, MI, that serves as the gateway to the Upper Peninsula where the great waters of Lake Huron and Lake Michigan meet. Here, you board a ferry that transports you to Mackinac Island to enjoy a slower pace of life much like that of the 19th century due to the notable absence of automobiles. Visitors and residents make their way between the quaint cafes, its charming boutique shops, and the magnificent coastline on foot, by way of bicycles, or horse drawn carriage. Upon arrival on Mackinac Island, you check in at the Bicycle Street Inn & Suites (906-847-8005) for a delightful two-night stay. Hotel amenities include a fitness center, business center, on-site restaurant and bar, gift shop and guest laundry. Guest rooms feature a microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and television. Dinner is included tonight with the remainder of the evening to enjoy the hotel or a stroll down Main Street.

Day 3

Breakfast is included this morning before you set out on a fascinating carriage tour of Mackinac Island. Enjoy history and charm on your narrated carriage tour as you see the Surrey Museum, Arch Rock, Fort Mackinac Avenue of Flags and more. Following the carriage tour, lunch is included at the legendary Grand Hotel. The Grand has been welcoming guests since 1887, and even today continues to offer its visitors a memorable experience of a bygone era full of old-world hospitality and splendor. Witness stunning views of the Straits of Mackinac that will forever be etched in your mind from the world's longest porch. Following your hearty lunch buffet, the remainder of the day is yours to enjoy free time to further explore the island. Dinner is on your own this evening.

Day 4

Wake to breakfast included once again this morning before you pack up and depart on a ferry ride to return to St. Ignace, MI. Lunch is on your own today before arrival in Hillman, MI for an overnight stay at Thunder Bay Resort (989-742-4502). Guest room amenities at this all-season resort include complimentary Wi-Fi, furnished patios, flat-screen TV, coffee maker, iron/ironing board, microwave and refrigerator. A special evening is planned with the resort's award-winning Elk Viewing Carriage Ride. Board your carriage pulled by Percheron and Belgian draft horses that meander through the woods where you will view elk in their natural surroundings and learn information about these magnificent animals from your carriage guide. Your destination is the Elk Antler Log Cabin, where before your eyes on 100-year-old wood cook stoves, a gourmet dinner will be prepared and served. Also, during dinner learn about the habits of the elk, hear the mating "bugle" and handle massive antlers shed by some of the elk. This evening will be a night of dining and entertainment that will surely be one of the most memorable stops on the tour. Afterwards, return to your room for the night.

Day 5

Begin the day with breakfast at the Clubhouse prior to check-out and departure for Frankenmuth, "Michigan's Little Bavaria", known for its Bavarian-style architecture. Enjoy a little time to stroll through the downtown and browse the shops before you roll up your sleeves for a hands-on class with a twist. Experience a pretzel making class learning the proper pretzel-rolling method and reap the rewards of your efforts as you get to take your piping hot, baked pretzel with you. Lunch is also included before you depart for Perrysburg, Ohio to, once again, check in at the Hilton Garden Inn Toledo Perrysburg for your final night stay on the road. This is the same property you stayed at on the first night. Dinner is on your own tonight.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you check out and board the motorcoach for return to Pennsylvania. Meal and rest stops will be made at your expense along the way.
