Next, you have admission included at Philadelphia's Magic Gardens. Covering an indoor and outdoor space equivalent to half a city block, PMG inspires creativity and community engagement by educating the public about folk, mosaic and visionary art. Isaiah Zagar, a local artist who began tiling South Street in the 1960's and never stopped, constructed the space out of cement, bicycle spokes, bottles, ceramic shards and other artistic knick-knacks. The tiled passages of the Magic Garden weave over and underground. Enjoy your self-exploration of this truly unique and magical space in Philadelphia. (Please be advised that walking can be a little tricky in the outdoor gallery) This evening, enjoy a truly awe-inspiring and illuminating experience at the Chinese Lantern Festival, a celebration of light and culture that features artisans from China and the Philadelphia region. In addition to more than 30 larger-than-life illuminated lanterns, festival admission includes live performances and may include Face-Changing, Diabolo, Foot Juggling, Folk Dances and Cube Arts. Visit the Pagoda Gift Shop to purchase colorful lantern-inspired gifts, festival souvenirs and more. Explore the festival on your own and have dinner at your expense before you depart for home.
