DAY 1

Join Wolf's on a fabulous summer retreat to the picturesque New York Finger Lakes. Following meal and rest stops enroute, you arrive at Heron Hill Winery for a tasting. New York state is the second largest grape producer in the US, and the unique micro-climate in the Finger Lakes makes this the largest grape growing region in NY State. For nearly 50 years, Heron Hill has grown cold-climate vinifera grapes and has made elegant world-class wines focusing on Reisling, Chardonnay and other vinifera varieties. You may wish to purchase some of your favorites to take along home with you. Next, you depart for check-in at your host hotel, Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester/Victor (585-924-4400) for a three-night stay. The hotel features an indoor pool, fitness center and business center with complimentary Wi-Fi. Guest room amenities include a coffee maker, high-speed internet access and iron/ironing board. After a brief time to freshen up, you travel to the quaint village of Pittsford for an included dinner cruise along the Erie Canal. Board the Colonial Belle for cruise narrated by your captain that will both educate and entertain you with the history of the Eric Canal, the towns that you pass through and the boat itself. After your cruise, you return to the hotel to turn in for the night.

DAY 2

Breakfast is included at the hotel before you board the motorcoach with your local guide for a day of touring. Your first stop is at the Jell-O Museum in LeRoy, NY. You are never too old to enjoy the wiggle and jiggle of that flavorful treat. In 1845, Peter Cooper dabbled with a patented product which was "set" with gelatin. Unfortunately, the product did not "jell" with the American public. In 1897, Pearle Wait, a carpenter in LeRoy, was putting up a cough remedy and laxative tea in his home. He experimented with gelatine and came up with a fruit filled dessert that his wife Mary named Jell-O. The success of this unusual snack did not come easy, but finally in 1909 the Genesee Pure Food Company posted sales earnings of over a million dollars. Today, it is known as the "America's Most Famous Dessert". Learn more about the history of Jell-O and have time to visit the gift shop before you depart. Next, you visit Letchworth State Park, renowned as the "Grand Canyon of the East". The Genesee River roars through the gorge over three major waterfalls between cliffs, as high as 600 feet in some places, surrounded by lush forests. Witness the scenic beauty as you travel through Letchworth State Park for lunch included at the historic Glen Iris Inn. The Inn overlooks the magnificent Middle Falls, one of the three major waterfalls in Letchworth, and has welcomed guests for meals and overnight stays since 1914. Be sure to have your cameras ready to document your visit to the Glen Iris. Following lunch, you depart for a tour of The Abbey of the Genesee, a Roman catholic community of Trappist Monks who support themselves by making and selling Monks' bread and other specialty baked goods in their own on-site store. Necessary to the contemplative, monastic vision is creating and maintaining an environment conducive to contemplation. Thus, they observe silence, speaking in a limited way when necessary, and exclude the use of radio, television and other irrelevant media. Learn more about their way of life during your visit. Afterwards, you take a short drive to the village of Mumford where admission is included to visit the Genesee Country Village and Museum. Founded in 1966 with the goal of preserving the architecture of the Genesee Valley region in a recreated historic village. Witness history around you as costumed interpreters go about their day-to-day activities of living in the 1800's in western New York as you stroll around the property. Dinner is included at the Museum before your depart for return to the hotel for the rest of the night.

DAY 3

Breakfast is once again included at the hotel before you set out on a day of touring with your local guide. First, you have admission included at Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion. Sonnenberg is one of the few remaining estates with a Queen Anne Victorian-style mansion and formal gardens in America. The exterior is constructed of rusticated limestone with red medina sandstone trim. Inspired by European and Asian locales, Sonnenberg Gardens bears the imprint of philanthropist Mark Clark Thompson. Gaze at the detailed landscape reminiscent of mountainous Japan featuring water cascading past the Tea House and underneath five bridges. Visit the Sub-Rose Garden, also known as the "secret garden", it features an intricate marble fountain and bench on a raised platform. Next, you depart for downtown Canandaigua for time on your own to grab a bite of lunch and browse the shops. This afternoon, enjoy a scenic sightseeing cruise on Seneca Lake along pastoral scenery dotted with wineries, farms and a quaint lakeside village. Seneca Lake is the largest Finger Lake by volume and the second longest by length. Seneca lake is very deep, reaching depths exceeding 600 feet which creates the perfect environment for grape growing. Speaking of grapes, after the cruise you have a wine tasting included at a local winery and followed by dinner included at a local restaurant. Then, you return to the hotel to relax and unwind.

DAY 4

Wake to breakfast included at the hotel before you check out and begin your journey back home. But wait, there is one more stop along the way where admission is included at the Corning Museum of Glass. The Museum cares for and displays the world's largest collection of art and historical glass. See more than 3,500 years of history displayed in the Glass Collection Galleries, from the glass portrait of an ancient Egyptian pharaoh to contemporary sculpture made in glass. Witness a live demonstration and take part in a hands-on experience during your visit. Next, you depart for home with meal rest stops as needed.
