***ALL WOLF'S TOURS - TIMES AND ITINERARY SUBJECT TO CHANGE***

DAY 1

Journey to Charleston, South Carolina for a trip back in time featuring southern charm, picturesque plantations, and history dating back to when the first shot was fired that touched off our nation's Civil War. Following meal and rest stops en route, our first night will be spent in Fayetteville, NC at the Hampton Inn & Suites Fayetteville (910-635-3200) for an overnight stay. The hotel features an outdoor (seasonal) pool, a fitness center, business center and complimentary Wi-Fi. DAY 2

Enjoy a hot breakfast included at the hotel before we check out and continue our travels south bound. Today, lunch will be on your own. Next, you visit Boone Hall Plantation that was founded in 1681 when Englishman Major John Boone came to Charleston and established a lucrative plantation and gracious home on the banks of Wampacheone Creek. "America's Most Photographed Plantation" known for its ¾ mile moss draped Avenue of Oaks, it is the epitome of southern charm and is also one of America's oldest working farms continuously growing and producing crops for more than three centuries. Enjoy a tour of the mansion's first floor to witness how this Georgian-designed home blends recovered materials and antique furnishings to recreate an atmosphere in which a Coastal Carolina planter's family would have lived. Also included in our visit is an informative presentation looking back at the living quarters, historic relics and lifestyle of the slaves that lived at Boone Hall. Take a self-guided stroll through the gardens and end the day with a presentation that explores the rich history of the "Gullah Culture". The name Gullah is derived from the mother-tongue of the African slaves that once worked the fields and mansion of the plantation. Next, we will depart for our host hotel for the night, the Comfort Inn Patriots Point (843-856-8817). The hotel amenities include an outdoor pool, a fitness center, business center and complimentary premium Wi-Fi. Guest rooms feature a coffee maker, hairdryer, iron/ironing board and flat screen television. Dinner this evening will be included at Hymans Seafood. Located at the same spot for over 126 years, Hymans is well-known for its fabulous, fresh seafood. Afterwards, we will return to the hotel for the remainder of the night.

DAY 3

Breakfast will be included at the hotel before we depart the hotel for a carriage ride with a licensed guide through the historic downtown learning about the buildings, mansions, history, churches, parks and the people that make up the "Holy City". After our delightful carriage ride, we will have free time for lunch on our own at Charleston's City Market. From sit-down dining to grab-and-go, the market has everything from Lowcountry dishes like shrimp and grits to sophisticated Southern fare such as lobster and bourbon-glazed shrimp; to food on the go such as award-winning biscuits and pimento cheese sandwiches. Spend your time dining and/or shopping for the perfect souvenir such as sweetgrass baskets weaved at the market, a trade passed down through the generations from the slaves of 'old' Charleston. Early afternoon, we will depart for Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, the oldest tourist site in the Lowcountry and oldest public gardens in America. Founded in 1676 by the Drayton family, the plantation has survived for centuries and witnessed the history of our nation from the American Revolution through the Civil War and beyond. The Drayton family home dates back to 1873 and is the third home on the site as those previous were destroyed by fire during a raid on Union troops. Enjoy a guided tour of the house and get a glimpse of plantation life in the 19th century as you view ten of its rooms furnished with early-American antiques, porcelain, quilts and other family heirlooms. Next, experience history and wildlife on an action-packed tram tour of the plantation's wetlands, lakes, forests and marshes. Naturalist guides help you possibly spot alligators, turtles, egrets and herons in their native habitat. The guides bring history to life from the row of slave cabins to 19th century rice ponds and a Native American ceremonial mound that evoke the plantation's complex past. At the conclusion of our visit, we will return to downtown Charleston for free time to explore and have dinner on your own before returning to the hotel for the remainder of the night.

DAY 4

Kick off your morning with breakfast once again included at the hotel before we depart for a tour of Charleston Tea Plantation. En route, we will make a stop to photograph the Angel Oak Tree. Estimated to be more than 400-500 years old, it is a must-see and has come to symbolize Charleston, South Carolina. Next, we will arrive at Charleston Tea Plantation for a tour, tasting and goodie bag to take along home with you. In the late 1700's tea bushes arrived from China. Several attempts over the next 150 years to propagate and produce tea for consumption were unsuccessful. Another attempt in 1888 was once again unsuccessful, but left hope from wildly growing tea plants that were later transplanted on an experimental farm and went on to flourish as a commercial operation. Learn more of the history as the Bigelow family comes into the picture and offers one-of-a-kind presentations on its true working tea farm. Enjoy a small sampling of the teas as well as lunch at the plantation and a goodie bag to take with you to remember your experience. Please choose one of the following for your Boxed Lunch: Oven Roasted Turkey & Swiss, Ham & Havarti Cheese, Vegetarian, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Chef Salad or Super Food Salad. All boxed lunches will come with pasta salad, chips, a cookie and iced tea or water. (If you have not made your choice yet, please contact our office at least one month prior to the trip's departure to give selection.) Afterward, we will depart for Charleston's historic downtown with the opportunity to further explore on your own OR take an optional cruise to Fort Sumter for time to explore the island. Fort Sumter is an island fortification originally constructed in 1829 as a coastal garrison but is most famous for being the site of the first shots of the Civil War upon Federal troops at 4:30 a.m. on April 12, 1861. (Note: This is an optional tour for an additional fee of $30 per person and must be booked at least 30 days in advance of tour's departure.) Dinner this evening will be on your own in downtown Charleston before we return to the hotel for the night.

DAY 5

Following breakfast included at the hotel, we will check out and board the motorcoach and travel north bound to Myrtle Beach, SC. Upon arrival, we will have free time to explore and have lunch on our own at Broadway at the Beach. With a delightful array of dining options from all-American steaks, ribs, hamburgers and seafood to the international flare of fajitas and sushi, Broadway at the Beach offers something for everyone with varying price points. If a little retail therapy is what you are looking for, Broadway offers one-of-a-kind shops and boutiques, as well as a collection of nationally recognized name brands. Next, we will depart for the Beach Cove Resort (843-286-5690) for our last night's stay. Resort amenities include an indoor pool and whirlpool, one outdoor pool heated year-round, a fitness center, racquetball court, on-site dining options and a cocktail lounge, a business center, coin operated laundry, and complimentary Wi-Fi internet access. Your oceanfront suite features a living room with a sleeper couch, table and chairs, private balcony, fully equipped kitchen with stove, microwave, refrigerator, basic utensils and dishes, coffee maker, cable television, DVD player, hair dryer and iron/ironing board. Enjoy some down time to stick your toes in the sand or take a relaxing swim in the pool, or perhaps take a power nap to prepare for our final night of dinner and entertainment. Dinner will be included at the Original Benjamin's Calabash Seafood. A landmark of the Grand Strand, Benjamin's buffet features fresh local seafood prepared daily Calabash style, lightly battered and deep fried. Our last evening of entertainment reminds us that the holiday season is just around the corner with a special brand of light-hearted entertainment, often called "The Christmas Show of the South". We will enjoy an enchanting holiday performance at the Carolina Opry. An unforgettable holiday experience, Carolina Opry brings stunning changes, beautifully blended with time-honored tradition to create a family experience that is second to none as new talent mingles with acclaimed rotating artists and long-standing Opry favorites. We will return to Beach Cove Resort after the performance to turn in for the night.
