Cape May Overnight, NJ - 2023

DAY 1

A short stop will be made this morning on your way to Cape May, New Jersey. Upon arrival in Cape May, you will enjoy free time in the city's historic square known as the Washington Street Mall to browse the quaint shops and have lunch on your own in one of the sidewalk cafes. Mid-afternoon you will check-in to your oceanfront hotel Marquis de Lafayette (609-884-3500). Hotel amenities include a heated pool and sauna, on-site restaurant and pub, and rocking chairs for a relaxing view of the ocean. Your rooms feature a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hair dryer and iron/ironing board. After time to freshen up, you will board an old-fashioned trolley for a narrated tour of the Cape May historic district, possessing one of the country's largest collections of 19th century framed buildings. Settled by whalers and fishermen in colonial times, learn how the city nearly burnt to the ground in 1878 and its reconstruction left majestic Victorian era buildings. Following your educational and entertaining tour, you will have dinner included at a local restaurant. Please choose from one of the following entrees: Prime Rib or 4-5 oz Cold Water Lobster tail Stuffed with Crab Imperial. If you have not already made your entree selection, please contact our office to indicate your choice.) Afterwards, you will return to the hotel for the remainder of the night.

DAY 2

Your day begins with breakfast included at the hotel. Following check out, you will experience Cape May in a whole new way with a narrated sightseeing cruise. Your vessel will cruise around Cape May Point with spectacular views of Cape May Point Lighthouse and maybe even catch a glimpse of a dolphin. Following your cruise, you will depart for home with a stop in Historic Smithville and The Village Greene for lunch on your own and free time to browse the shops on the water's edge. Stroll along the cobblestone paths where you may choose to dine at one of the open-air cafes and browse through more than 40 unique galleries and boutiques. Afterwards, you will return home with a dinner stop at your expense enroute.
