DAY 1

Our travels today take us to our nation's capital, Washington, D.C., for an eye-opening experience during our Spies, Lies and Government Conspiracies tour. Our first stop will be for a tour of the National Cryptology Museum. Take a look back at the history and role that making and breaking codes has had in American and world history. You'll hear how messages were sent in the Civil War, how the U.S. entered WWI due to a broken coded German message, see the machine that decrypted the Japanese "Dec 7, 1941" message, and learn about the Native American Code Talkers. That's not all, see some of the earliest supercomputers and secure telephones and more. Next, we are off to lunch included at the Mad Hatter. Following lunch, we will depart for The Mansion on O Street, for a truly unique experience. Our tour includes an introduction and Q & A about The Mansion, followed by a self-guided journey through the 100-uniquely-themed rooms and 70 secret passages. Deemed the coolest place in DC, find your way through secret doors and covert passages, walk in the footsteps of presidents and freedom fighters, historians and fiction writers. Volunteers will offer information as you head out on your super sleuth adventure. Afterwards, we will visit the International Spy Museum featuring interactive exhibitions and installations, the foremost collection of spy artifacts in the world and first-person accounts from top intelligence officers and experts, this museum places you in the shoes of a spy. Receive your cover identity in the 5th floor Briefing Room and prepare to test your spy skills throughout the museum on your undercover mission. Try your hand at code-cracking, discover the age-old techniques leaders used to secretly influence events abroad. Explore stories from the American Revolution to the 21st century cyber warfare. Finish at the Debriefing Center where you will receive your Undercover Mission conclusion and performance debrief that summarizes your top spy skills. We will conclude our day of Spies, Lies and Government with a visit to the National Law Enforcement Museum. With more than 21,000 artifacts from every era of law enforcement, including a bullet-proof vest c.1930 used by gangster Al Capone, spread through 3 stories underground, the museum gives you an in-depth feeling of what it is like to walk in the footsteps of a law enforcement officer.
