Day 1

Our excursion northward begins with a 2-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Lincoln, NH, (603-745-6700). Hotel features complimentary coffee in the lobby, free high-speed internet in all rooms, business service center, indoor pool, heated indoor pool and whirlpool, and a fitness center. Dinner tonight will be included at a local restaurant.


Day 2

A hot breakfast this morning will be included before we board the bus and make our way across the magnificent Kancamagus Highway featuring spectacular views of the foliage, waterfalls and maybe even a moose or two. Don't forget your camera as we will make photo stops as you travel through the White Mountain National Park aglow with fall colors. Enjoy free time for lunch in the quaint village of North Conway with boutiques, shops and casual restaurants. Continue your loop tour with a photo stop at Jackson Covered Bridge. Travel through "the notches" with dramatic vistas of Presidential mountain range to board an enclosed aerial tram ride to the summit of Cannon Mountain for a breathtaking view. On a clear day, you can see four states and Canada. If time permits, a stop may be made at the Flume Gorge Visitor Center. Once we descend the mountain, we will enjoy the Cafe Lafayette Train Ride with a 5-course feast. Unwind to the rhythm of the rails in a beautifully restored vintage Pullman railroad car to dine against a backdrop of ever-changing scenery.

Day 3

Enjoy a hot breakfast this morning that is included at the hotel before you check out and get ready for a day filled with colorful adventure that begins with a visit to Castle in the Clouds for a tour of the impressive mansion high on a mountaintop overlooking the pristine New Hampshire Lakes Region. A bountiful buffet lunch is included today on the M/S Mount Washington cruise as you cross Lake Winnipesaukee. Enjoy the captain's commentary as the ship makes its way around the granite state's largest lake with over 18 miles of shoreline and over 200 islands. As we travel to Ogunquit, Maine, we will check into the comforts of the Meadowmere Resort (207-646-9661) that features an indoor pool, Jacuzzi, pub and movie theatre. Your hotel room amenities include free complimentary Wi-Fi, TV and air-conditioning. There is free time this evening to explore the quaint village of Ogunquit, with a variety of galleries, shops and restaurants for dinner on your own before returning to the resort.

Day 4

Enjoy a deluxe continental breakfast this morning included at the hotel before we travel to mid-coast Maine for a narrated Boothbay Harbor Cruise. to see the beautiful islands, lighthouses and vacation homes that dot the coastline - and perhaps some seals out on the ledges. Lunch will be on your own in Boothbay Harbor, with many restaurants and quaint shops along the bustling waterfront. We will spend the afternoon exploring the Boothbay Railway Village, a turn of-the-20th-century Maine village containing railroad memorabilia, antique cars and trucks and such restored buildings as a blacksmith shop, red schoolhouse and general store as well as the 1847 Boothbay town hall, Freeport railway station and Spruce Point chapel. You'll have free time to explore the buildings at your choice, and then regroup for a guided "behind the scenes" tour of the train shop. You will also get a chance to ride on a narrow-gauge, coal-fired steam engine and in an antique Model T! Our last night will end with a delicious lobster dinner. We'll have non-seafood menu items as well for any landlubbers.


Day 5

Enjoy a deluxe continental breakfast this morning that is included before checking out and saying good bye to Ogunquit, ME. You'll depart for home with memories of a journey that will not soon be forgotten.
