Following meal and rest stops along the way, we will arrive to the corners of Virginia's Historic Triangle, Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown where each town has a storied past that marks major events in the story of colonial America. Our first stop will be for a guided tour of Jamestown Settlement that tells the story of 17th-century Virginia, from the arrival of English colonists in 1607 to the cultural encounters and events that planted the seeds of a new nation. Jamestown settlement comes to life as we step aboard a re-creation of one of the three ships that sailed from England to Virginia in 1607, step inside a life-sized, recreated colonists' fort and a Powhatan Indian Village. Following our experience, we will depart for check in to our host hotel the Embassy Suites by Hilton Williamsburg (757-229-6800) for the next two nights. The hotel reflects the rich Williamsburg heritage through its tasteful décor and masterful art and is well-appointed with amenities including an indoor heated pool, fitness center, 24-hour business center, the Atrium Café and lounge and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the building. Guest rooms feature separate bedroom and living room spaces and are fully equipped with 2 televisions, a mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer and iron/ironing board. Dinner this evening will be included at an area restaurant with the remainder of the evening to relax and unwind back at the hotel.

Wake to a hearty, hot breakfast included at the hotel. Today, you have the option of a guided walking tour of Colonial Williamsburg OR time on your own at Busch Gardens Theme Park. If Colonial Williamsburg is your choice, take a step back in time with a guided walking tour of this 18th-century town where you will witness what life was like when Williamsburg was the capital of the Virginia Colony. Included in your tour will be the Governor's Palace, the domestic residence of seven royal governors and Virginia's first two commonwealth governors, Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson. Afterwards, you will have time for lunch on your own and browsing the many shops which are located in Merchants Square. Located adjacent to the historic area, stroll through the 18th-century style retail village with over 40 shops and restaurants. OR if the thrill of high-flying, fast-moving rides or live stage productions are what you seek, Busch Gardens Williamsburg is just the place for you. Busch Gardens also has kid-friendly and low thrill rides, exciting entertainment, one-of-a-kind shopping and furry, feathered, and slithery friends that call this place home and are waiting for you to learn more about them and their habitat. After your chosen adventure, we will all meet back at the hotel to freshen up and make our way to dinner included at one of Williamsburg's most famous restaurants, Captain George's Seafood Buffet. If you go home hungry it's your own fault as Captain George's offers a mouthwatering variety of seafood favorites, meats, vegetables, salad items and don't forget their fabulous desserts. After dinner we will return to the hotel to retire for the night.

B, D

Once again, a hot breakfast will be included at the hotel before we check out and depart for Yorktown, the last corner in the Historic Triangle. The port of Yorktown was the site of the final battle of the American Revolutionary War and served as a major port to supply both northern and southern towns during the Civil War, depending upon who held its control at the time. We will board the Schooner Alliance for an historical cruise on the waters of the York River. Four centuries ago, Captain John Smith explored these same waters on a small sailing vessel while trading with the Powhatan Indians. Discover a different waterfront than what he saw back then, and learn about the significance of the waters in Yorktown. Following our cruise, we will have free time at Riverwalk Landing to have lunch on our own and browse the shops before boarding the motorcoach for our return trip home. We will have a meal stop at your expense on the way home.
