Day 1

Back by popular demand, but with some NEW PLACES, book your seats early to experience a taste of New York's most famous gourmet delis, bakeries, and food emporiums.

Calling all "Foodies"! Here is your chance to try some of New York's most famous gourmet delis, bakeries, and food emporiums. We begin our day with a fast-food stop en route to the Big Apple, New York City. Our first stop in New York City will be at Columbus Circle for lunch on your own. "Main Street Just Went Underground" in a unique food court featuring a unique collection of eateries and cutting-edge accessories in a hip and vibrant environment at the Turnstyle. Another grab-and-go option at Columbus Circle is the Whole Foods Market, an upscale grocery located on the lower concourse of the Time Warner Center. You may want to grab a bite and browse the three floors of retail shops overlooking Central Park. Next, we travel to Eataly, a place that challenges the idea that quality products are accessible only to a select few. A vibrant, one stop shop, Italian marketplace, Eataly features an array of quaint restaurants, food and beverage counters, bakery, retail items and a cooking school. Certainly the option is yours to purchase items and eat your way through the marketplace, or just shop for items that you can take home and impress your friends and family with new and exciting tastes and recipes. Our travels take us next to Greenwich Village. Simply referred to as "The Village" by locals, Greenwich Village is a neighborhood on the west side of Lower Manhattan offering a wide variety of food options and specialty shops. Take this opportunity to stroll through the narrow streets brimming with historic character and charm to get a taste on your own of whatever tickles your fancy. If you have a passion for cheese, you may want to visit Murray's Cheese Shop. Founded in 1940, Murray's current owner Rob and his lucky team travel regularly both in Europe and across the US in search of new and great artisan cheeses being produced from California to Vermont and from Athens to Wales and everywhere in between in search of unique and inviting varieties to make available to his patrons. If you are a coffee lover, Porto Rico Importing Co. has been offering the finest coffees and teas since 1907. Coffee has an interesting way of bringing people together through talk and socializing, it wakes us in the morning, and it gets us going when we need a boost. Porto Rico takes pride in the unique blends that it sells and serves, as well as offering chocolate and flavored syrups that will help to bring out the special qualities in the coffees or teas. Next stop will be Little Italy. Walking beside the narrow, cobblestoned streets beneath the fire escapes of the turn-of-the-century tenements, you will be tempted by the sight, sounds and smells of Italian cuisine and culture emanating from the restaurants surrounding you at every step. This is a great time to have dinner on your own and maybe even a glass of vino (wine) after a busy day in New York City. At the conclusion of your time in Little Italy, you will return home with a short rest stop en route.
