Breakfast will be included at the hotel before we have admission included to Graceland and the new Visitors Center Complex, "Elvis Presley's Memphis." Guests will fully immerse themselves in his life and career like never before - his roots, his influences and his artistry. Admission includes Graceland Mansion with new orientation film, Elvis' two custom airplanes, the new "Elvis Presley Motors" Automobile Museum which showcases 20 of Elvis' favorite vehicles including his iconic Pink Cadillac, "Elvis: The Entertainer" Career Museum that takes visitors on an unprecedented journey through his life and career from Tupelo to Hollywood movie days and the Las Vegas years and more, and the new themed Discovery Exhibits that highlight Elvis' influences, important facets of his incredible life and his role in launching a music and pop culture revolution. Lunch this afternoon will be on your own while at Graceland. At the conclusion of the visit, we will take a guided local sightseeing tour of the City of Memphis. Known as the "The City of Kings", Memphis is also the home of the Blues and the birthplace of Rock 'n Roll. Located on the banks of the Mississippi River the city's first inhabitants were Native American Indians. In 1819, the city was surveyed and designed by its founders General/President Andrew Jackson, General James Winchester and Judge John Overton. During the tour, you will see the Danny Thomas/ALSAC Pavilion located on the campus of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Dedicated to the late entertainer Danny Thomas and founder of the hospital, the building emits a star-like shape and symbolizes the far-reaching scope of ALSAC and the work of St. Jude. Next, no trip to Memphis is complete until you witness the March of the Ducks at the Peabody Hotel. What started as a joke nearly 80 years ago at The Peabody Hotel by two men that had consumed too much of the good Jack Daniel's Tennessee sippin' whiskey, the March of the Peabody Ducks has become a time-honored tradition. The original live decoy ducks were replaced with five North American Mallards, and Bellman Edward Pembroke, a former circus trainer, offered to help deliver the ducks daily to the fountain and taught them the famous "Peabody March". Dinner this evening will be included at King's Palace on Beale Street after which you will have some time to take a stroll down one of the liveliest streets in Memphis and perhaps drop in one of its unique bars for a beverage. Afterwards, we will return to the hotel for the remainder of the evening.B, D
After time for breakfast included at the hotel, we will check out and depart for Nashville, Tennessee. Upon arrival in Nashville, we will have time for lunch on your own. Next, admission is included to the Country Music Hall of Fame where the legends and their lyrics come to life. Created by the Country Music Association in the mid-1960's, The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum tells the story of America's music through dynamic exhibits including artists clothing and instruments, historic country video clips and recorded music. The museum's core permanent exhibit tells the story of country music from its pre-commercial roots in the 19th century through its vibrant life today. In addition, temporary exhibits are on display throughout the building that highlight a specific country music artist more in depth. At the conclusion of the self-guided tour, we will depart and check in to the Hampton Inn & Suites Nashville-Airport (615-885-4242) for a three-night stay. This newly renovated property features an outdoor seasonal pool, health & fitness room, a business center, coin operated guest laundry, 24-hour Pavilion Pantry Market and complimentary high-speed internet access throughout the property. Guest room amenities include a coffee maker, hairdryer, LCD flat panel TV and iron/ironing board. The evening is topped off with a sunset cruise aboard the stunning General Jackson Showboat. During your leisurely cruise on the Cumberland River, enjoy a delicious meal freshly prepared by the onboard chefs and toe tapping entertainment in its two-story theatre reminiscent of the extravagance of the American Victorian era. Following the cruise, we will return to the hotel for the night.B, D
We start off the morning with breakfast included at the hotel before we begin our local sightseeing tour of Nashville including driving by the Parthenon and Music Row. As the "Country Music Capital of the World," Nashville is world renowned for its music as well as the honky-tonks where many aspiring musicians play in the hopes that one day they will be discovered and rise to stardom. After our narrated driving tour, we will have time for lunch on our own in downtown Nashville. Following our free time for lunch, we will have admission included to the Johnny Cash Museum dedicated to the life and music career of the late "Man in Black." The museum features the world's largest and most comprehensive collection of artifacts and memorabilia including stage costumes, instruments, personal letters, artwork, and handwritten lyrics. Afterwards, admission will be included to the Patsy Cline Museum. Despite Patsy's tragic, untimely passing at the young age of 30, she left an everlasting mark on country music and remains one of the biggest names in its history. The museum celebrates the life of the legendary songstress and features hundreds of never before seen artifacts, personal belongings, videos and much more. Next, have you ever heard of a GooGoo Cluster? Way back in 1912, this milk chocolate delight hit the market and altered what was possible in the confection world by combining more than one element in a candy treat. We are going to take a short walk across the street to visit Nashville's GooGoo Cluster Shop to enable you to purchase some chocolatey goodness for yourself. Our day wraps up with a dinner show at the NEW Ray Stevens CabaRay Showroom. You can count on receiving a warm southern welcome, along with a wonderful meal and be thoroughly entertained with a fantastic show for fans of all ages in the Vegas-style showroom. We will return to the hotel after the performance.B, D
Breakfast will be included at the hotel with a morning free to relax at the hotel or enjoy some retail therapy at the Opry Mills Outlet Center. Early afternoon, we will enjoy a guided tour of the famed Ryman Auditorium. This place is hallowed ground, the exact spot where bluegrass was born, where Johnny Cash met June Carter, where souls were saved and a slice of history was nearly lost. It was right here that country music found an audience beyond its own back porch, and countless careers took off as deals were signed on napkins and paper scraps backstage. Learn about its storied history, the names that lit up the marquee, and the man who dedicated his life and fortune to build a place where all people can gather. Next, it is time for dinner at the famous Wildhorse Saloon, and if the mood strikes you, feel free to hit the dance floor and line dance like there is no tomorrow. The evening concludes with the legendary Grand Ole Opry Evening Show. What began as a simple radio broadcast in 1925 has evolved into a live entertainment phenomenon. Dedicated to honoring country music's rich history, the Grand Ole Opry showcases a mix of country legends and the contemporary chart-toppers who have followed in their footsteps. After the performance, we will return to the hotel for the night.B, D
Our day begins with breakfast included at the hotel before we check out and depart for Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Lunch will be on your own along the way. Upon arrival in Pigeon Forge, we will have free time at The Island to shop at more than 60 unique retail and speciality shops. Then, we will check in to the Hampton Inn & Suites Pigeon Forge on the Parkway (865-428-1600) for our final night. The hotel offers an outdoor (seasonal) pool, fitness room, business center with complimentary high-speed internet access, coin operated laundry and an on-site convenience store. In-room amenities include a microwave, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, hair dryer, and LCD flat panel cable television. Tonight, dinner will be included at an area restaurant followed by the Country Tonight Evening Show. The show provides the best in quality entertainment with singing, dancing, comedy, powerful gospel and patriotic numbers in a high-energy performance. It's that "feel good" kind of show that will stay with you long after you leave for home. Following the performance, we will return to the hotel to relax for the remainder of the evening.B, D
Following breakfast included at the hotel, we will depart for home with meal and rest stops en route.B
