During your self-guided tour of the museum, you will have time for lunch on your own. You continue your exploration with a visit to the largest public museum dedicated to signs in the United States. Following breakfast included at the hotel, we will depart for Williamstown, Kentucky, for the highly anticipated visit to the Ark Encounter. The largest timber frame structure in the world and an engineering masterpiece, the Ark stands seven stories tall and spans 510 feet long (equivalent to a football field and a half long), 85 feet wide and 51 feet high. Built according to the dimensions given in the Bible, enter Noah's world and tour three decks filled with scores of stunning exhibits that will allow you to experience what his life may have been like while on the Ark. According to the Bible, Noah's Ark was a safe haven for representatives of all kinds of air-breathing land animals and flying creatures. Ark researchers estimate a maximum of around 7,000 animals were on board, and Noah and his family still had sufficient space for food, water and other storage. How did Noah fit all the animals on board? How did Noah care for all the animals? How did Noah build the Ark? These questions and much more about the year-long global Flood may be answered for you in the mind-blowing and thought-provoking exhibits. During your self-guided visit to the Ark, take time for lunch on your own in Emzara's Kitchen featuring comfort foods and some specialty items. After our time at the Ark, you will transfer by coach for a guided tour of the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. Building the Cathedral was the dream of the Most Reverend Camilius Paul Maes. The project began in 1894 and ended in 1915, incomplete. Traditionally, churches attained the title of basilica because of their antiquity, dignity, historical importance, or significance as centers of worship. Cathedrals were the physical centers of expanding commercial cities. Though largely unfinished even today, the Cathedral is an art and architectural monument that speaks of faith and determination of the Bishop and the community. Next, transport by coach with local guide for a driving tour of Cincinnati, with a short drive across the river to Covington, KY the location of Mainstrasse Village. This area is designated as a national historic district as it is lovingly preserved from its 19-century German neighborhood origin and is a popular destination for visitors and locals alike as the village features unique shops and galleries and a variety of excellent restaurants. Dinner will be included at one of the area's restaurants. Following your delicious dinner, you will return to the hotel for the evening.B, D
