DAY 1

New York City is a melting pot of people from all walks of life blended together with a bountiful mixture of ethnic cultures. Join us as we travel to the "Big Apple" to celebrate both people and their unique cultures during the ever-popular 9th Avenue International Food Festival in New York City. After a short stop en route to New York, we drop off in the vicinity of the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, where the festival stretches along Ninth Avenue between 42nd to 57th Streets, for time to explore the festival on your own. One of New York's largest and oldest traditions, the 9th Avenue Food Festival is a vibrant celebration of cultural diversity through food. The fair offers both traditional festival treats as well as cuisine unique to countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Greece, Morocco, and Ethiopia just to name a few. Not only is the festival's food international, there is also diverse ethnic music and performances to liven the celebration throughout the day. If you were looking for some retail therapy today, browse the nearly 200 arts and crafts vendors located throughout the event space. The festival is held to raise funds for community groups and perfectly illustrates the diversity of New York itself. We do ask that you have dinner before we depart the festival at 6:30 p.m. A short rest stop will be made on the way home.
